Become a Substitute

Ever thought about becoming a substitute? Here are some great reasons why you should give it a try:

  • You can make a difference in students’ lives
  • You can choose your own schedule
  • You can pick the classrooms you teach in
  • You can network with other teachers
  • You can expand your skills (and learn a lot too)
  • You’ll have fun!
Think you might fit? Now is a great time to give it a try! Substitute teachers are generally required to have a bachelor’s degree in any field, but this requirement has recently been modified. For the 2022-2023 school year, you may qualify for a substitute teaching license without completing a four-year degree through the Emergency Substitute Teacher Licensure Program.
