🌞 Welcome to Summer RISE 2025!

Empowering Young Learners, One Summer at a Time

📣 Important Update: Summer School Registration Is Changing

This summer, we’re rolling out a new and improved registration process for Summer RISE, a supplemental academic program designed to support Kindergarten through 5th grade students in the NWCSD.

Thanks to a special summer programming grant, we’re excited to provide targeted, high-impact instruction—but with some important changes from last year.

📝 What's New This Year?

Unlike previous years, Summer RISE is not open registration.
Due to grant requirements, we’re focusing on serving students who are:

  • Not yet meeting literacy benchmarks, as identified by the iReady Reading Diagnostic
  • Showing strong academic growth, even if they’re still below grade level
  • Maintaining 90% or higher attendance

Using this data, we’ve carefully identified students who are eligible and prioritized based on academic need and equity criteria aligned with growth targets. If your child qualifies, you will receive an invitation through ParentSquare.

***Please note: If we do not receive a response by the deadline listed in your invite, we will offer the spot to the next eligible student on our list.

🌞 Jumpstart Kindergarten!

The Jump Start Kindergarten program is specifically for incoming Kindergartners to get a boost before entering elementary school in the fall, to learn school routines, social emotional skills and practice beginning academic skills.

This free summer school program will start Monday, August 4th and end Thursday, August 14th. Students will attend school daily from 8:00am-1:00pm Monday-Thursday at Dry Hollow. Transportation will be provided for children who live over 1 mile away from the site and free breakfast and lunch will be provided daily.

Families with  incoming Kindergartners who will turn five years old by September 1st, 2025 and who live in the boundaries of the North Wasco County School district are welcome to apply. Enrollment decisions will be based on staffing levels.

If you have any questions or need help filling out this form, please contact Courtney Middleton at [email protected]
