Intensive Program
We are excited to announce our recent partnership with the Oregon Department of Education's Intensive Program. This collaboration is dedicated to advancing equity, fostering authentic community engagement, and enhancing district systems and capacity.
Through this partnership, NWCSD and other participating districts will receive additional grant-in-aid, supplementing existing ODE funding like the Student Investment Account resources. Committed to creating positive change, the collaboration is set to span a minimum of four years, contingent upon progress in identified areas of improvement.
The infusion of this funding enables us to address critical needs within the district.
A collaborative approach to recommendation and decision-making is utilized through the formation of a Student Success Team, composed of both district and external personnel.
About the Student Success Team
Student Success Teams are the core of the Intensive Program. Student Success Teams encompass two distinct bodies serving the district: advisory body and stewarding body.
The Advisory Body guides and advises the stewarding body on where to explore potential areas for recommendations.
The Stewarding Body is made up of the superintendent, a board member or community member, a teacher leader, three steward contractors (leadership, teaching and learning, and community), and the ODE point person. This seven-person body makes formal recommendations on how the additional grant-in-aid and SIA funding is utilized.
