Public Comments
The NWCSD Board of Directors encourages the District's community members to attend School Board Meetings and become acquainted with the programs & operations of the District. Community members are invited to bring their comments to the attention of the School Board during Regular School Board meetings.
Public Comment options are noted below:
"A person speaking during the designated portion of the agenda for public comment may offer objective
criticism of district operations and programs. The Board will not hear comments regarding any individual
district staff member. The Board chair will direct the visitor to the procedures in Board policy KL - Complaints for consideration of a legitimate complaint involving a staff member. A commendation involving a staff member should be sent to the superintendent, who will forward it to the employee, a supervisor and the Board."

Sign-Up to Speak to the School Board in person:
- Members of the community who wish to speak to the School Board are asked to sign-up prior to the start of the meeting on the official sign-up form, which is available at the entrance of the meeting room.

- When the Board is ready to take comments, the Chairperson will refer to the sign-up sheet and invite community members to speak from the list.
- Speakers will have up to three minutes to deliver their comments to the school board.
- Well-organized information is most effective. For those wishing to deliver hard copies of information to the School Board, please give to the School Board Secretary for distribution.
- Please be respectful of all speakers.
- To avoid repetitions, feel free to simply state that you agree with a previous speaker.
- Be ready to respond to questions from the Board if asked.

- Approved written public comments will be included in the School Board Agenda under the Public Comment section and may be read aloud as determined by the Board Chair. For regularly scheduled School Board Meetings, a submission deadline will be announced of when public comments will be accepted. Public comments submitted after the announced deadline will be included in the next Regular School Board Meeting agenda.

Public Comments procedures when meetings are held electronically:
The Board will only accept written public comment for scheduled school board meetings when held electronically. The Board is committed to the public comment process and will consider all public comment seriously. Public Comments for virtual meetings will continue to follow School Board Policy BDDH - Public Participation in Board Meetings and BDDH-AR.
