In order for ELL students to learn the English language effectively, the language is taught through rules indirectly, the ELD (English Language Development) method. ELD is not a reading or writing class, however some of the same strategies are used to teach language. All main classroom teachers are highly encouraged to use visual whenever possible, sentence frames, and identifying key terms within each lesson.
