This is my first year teaching at The Dalles High School. I've spent the rest of my life living and teaching on the East Coast. I was born and raised in New Jersey. After high school, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Policy at the University of Maryland, College Park. After college, I stayed in Maryland and worked in the non-profit world for three years as a Research Assistant in the Animal Research Issues section of The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). I realized I was not cut out for the cubicle world so I decided to take a few teaching courses at a local MD community college. Since I was already working with students and teachers at The HSUS, I thought why not??? And so here I am 14 fun filled teaching years later. Early on in my teaching career, before kids, I earned a Master of Science in Education at Johns Hopkins University.
How did I get from Maryland to the Gorge? Two years ago, my husband and I vacationed all around Oregon and fell in love with the Gorge. We thought long and hard and decided to pick up and move the family across the US. We began our West Coast life in Hood River this past July. Outside of school, my boys are my life.....my husband, my two sons and our dog. We are having a blast exploring all of the outdoor activities the Gorge has to offer!
