Mr. Robert Wells-Clark

I was born in California, and moved to Oregon as a very young child to Southern Oregon.  There, I was raised in the small town of Hugo.  I have always had an interest in cars and welding, and am proud to be teaching those subjects today.  I have additional endorsements in secondary English and secondary Social Studies, and until a year ago I taught one US History course at TDHS.  One little known fact about me that was even unknown to me until recently was that teaching shop classes has ran in my family.  My father was a scientific glass blowing instructor at Long Beach State University after several military and civilian positions glass blowing for government projects.

Today I am happy to call The Dalles home for 5 years.  I live downtown (most of my students even know where from seeing me out and about...) with my awesome wife of 5 years Meagan (that's where I get the "Wells" prefix) and our two dogs Sam and Toby.  Sam is a Labrador Retriever and Toby is a Golden Retriever.  We live a very active lifestyle- hiking and traveling as much as our schedules permit.  Our dogs go everywhere with us.

My hobbies include working on cars and racing them at the drag strip and PIR's circuit course when time allows and building models.  I also enjoy welding projects for friends and family and fixing their cars when I have the time to.

I help coach the Cross Country team and have learned so much from Bob Thouvenel and Mandi Williams, and even more from my runners.

Every year I learn more and more from my students and do my best to adapt my curriculum to match that.  Please don't hesitate to contact me.  I love to have an open conversation with parents and the community about what I teach, why I teach it and how I teach it.  My school email is and my phone extension here at the school is 2409.
