Mrs. Annala graduated with her bachelor's degree in art in 1979. In 1999 she decided to go back for her master's degree and work on a teaching license. Mrs. Annala graduated from Portland State University with both. This will be her ninth year of teaching.
Mrs. Annala is married and has two grown children and a new daughter-in-law. Her husband and son farm over forty acres of pears, cherries, a few apples and wine grapes. The farm that the Annala family lives on has been in their family since 1908. The Annalas live in the original farmhouse. Mrs. Annala grew up near Madras, Oregon, on her family's homesteaded farm. Mrs. Annala loves sewing, gardening, and woodworking; though she never has enough time for all her hobbies.
